New CelloChatter Posts: 2 May 10 08 6:37 PM	Tags : teacher, adult, beginner, berkeley, bay, area Hi all, I'm looking for a good teacher for adult beginners (30+ years old) with no prior cello/strings experience. I play the piano but have always wanted to learn cello. I've contacted a couple that I've found from craigslist, but would like to see if anyone knows of other teachers in particular who are great with adults-- preferably in the Berkeley/Oakland area. San Francisco okay as well. I have a day job and would like to find someone who can also work with evening/weekend schedules. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

That's why I did not volunteer. i've had good luck with adult beginners and I do prefer teaching such people (with well-developed pre-frontal lobes). Please leave me a message, if you are interested. Ideally I would like to find someone in either SF or East Bay, just to avoid adding excessive travel time on top of the amount of time I would be putting in for lesson & practice, while juggling my other obligations. Although, if the teacher is a right fit, I'm willing to chuck that criteria out the door.
