HELP new cellist.
I recently upgraded to a "real " cello after 2 years of study, I'm 35 and have taught guitar for 10 years in California. My old ebay cello was cheap but I spent a fair amount to have it set up correctly and its kept me playing for a while. My new cello is far nicer in apearance (paid) $1500 in San Francisco but it sounds very tight, while my ebay cello was tinny it seemed to have a bigger voice and more overtones. This new one is darker and softer in tone. Both cellos had full sets of Helicore strings. Im thinking about a CF endpin, Helicore Kaplan string and maybe a soundpost adjustment. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
