My wife is a professional violinist who has recently suffered an accident to her left-hand. Long story but the result is a mallet finger on the pinkie of her left-hand. It was in a splint for 7 weeks but that has not worked and she is left with this deformed pinkie. Doctors have not been very helpful and have basically told her to just get on and use it. That may be fine for a person who does not need to use her their hands like a pro cellist or fiddle player but trying to explain that to doctors can sometimes be surprisingly difficult. Has anybody here had experience of this? If so what was your treatment and more importantly, did it work? This is obviously career threatening if nothing more is done so we are looking at all options.
