It was clear to anyone listening that Obama was referring to infrastructure when he said "you didn't build that." Right-wing zealots quoted him by omitting the subject of his words, and whipped the troops into a predictable frenzy. Here, Romney makes the identical point, but of course it's ok because he's not Obama.

Anyone interested in this argument has already decided for whom to vote. Will this topic turn any of the middle 20% (or whatever that figure is these days)? It doesn't influence me and I'm not sure of who to vote for. (Maybe Libertarian this year...) Romney doesn't do much for me, but how has "Hope" and "Change" worked out? Or were all the years Left-wing zealots distorted Bush's words, OK? Or are we going to argue that nobody ever distorted, twisted or selectively heard Bush's words to fit their agenda? Or should he become president, nobody will do it to Romney?

How can this even happen(keep happening as there seems to be an Australian incident also) by someone seeking to be head of a country. How can he be trusted to be communication savvy when in negotiations or when the chips are down and he has to improvise without written material? No...I would not trust the image of my company(if I had one) to someone like that. After all, he wasn't doing anything that required much diplomacy...just a charm visit and this resulted. Good grief !!

But to be fair, while Mitt is now a player in the usual partisan dog-and-pony show and he shows promise at saying entertaining things as a candidate, he does get (as far as I can tell) universally high marks for his work at the '02 games.
