The best advice I can give you is to rent a cello at first, and start with a teacher from the very beginning. Cello is not an instrument to try to teach yourself.  If possible, rent from a shop which specializes in bowed string instruments. This should get you a decent student instrument which will be properly set up and play reasonably well. If you locate a cello teacher first, they may be able to recommend where to rent one.

Best of luck to you.
