Well, here the phrase 'de gustibus non est disputandum' applies. I have reached a conclusion quite the opposite of SteveDrake4's, and clearly prefer the Frirsz tailpiece. (I did somewhat in the first demonstration also, but here ,now, even more clearly). For the first few minutes of the comparisons I wasn't sure, but by the 5th minute I was convinced that the Frirsz sounds more open than the Wittner, in both the upper and lower registers. It sounds to me as if it allows a sound richer in harmonics than the Wittner. Especially revealing to me was the Brahms pizzicato section (good idea to include pizz). So, my vote goes to the Frirsz; thanks for taking the time again for producing such a well designed comparison!
