Our fearless leader flashing some serious chops! When Tim sent this to me I said, like Auer and the Tchaikovsky concerto, that I wouldn't play it because
it was too hard. Not too hard for people with technique!

Very nice, Tim! Could you give some background information on the piece for those of us who don't know it?
Thank you for sharing your terrific playing! Josephine |

The piece was written by some clown named Tim Janof, if that is your question.

These are really wonderful. I'm collecting them. I'll definitely learn them when I suck a little less... |

Wow, Tim. That is terrific writing and playing! Does the title mean there are 12 others that have preceded #13? (sorry to be behind the times. I've clearly
missed some important postings.) Are you making them available?

I updated #12 to make it slightly easier. Just one small transitional note makes all the difference, for me anyway. My kids were watching a movie, so I hurriedly recorded this before they started arguing (again!). It's amazing what one can do when one has a 5 minute deadline. |

Tim,
This one is terrific, too. I'll seach on YouTube for others, but for those like me who missed the backstory, is there one? Like what are your plans for more and what is the scope of and inspiration for the project and is the music available? Josephine |

The backstory, inspiration, and scope are things that are best said over an adult beverage. All sheet music that I dare release is at the link that follows.
For every one I post, there are several others that are held back.

About the inspiration thing... | #14 | ||
|
If you're not lucky enough to sit down with Tim and an adult beverage, you might want to check out one more
link .
For those unfamiliar with other portions of the site, there's more to ICS than the chat boards. I recommend the survey of Bach Suites editions for starters, and migrate out to interviews with the many cellists Tim's conducted over the last decade at least. Written by an extremely talented and dedicated "amateur cellist," you can enjoy the compositions, articles and interviews in a new and brighter light. We're all products of our experiences, and Tim sure has had more than most of us here. Inspired compositions, heart-felt playing, and a willingness to share with people who hopefully understand and appreciate what it's all about. I sure have been remiss with my kudos. "Cheers" and here's to more! |

Bravo Mr. Janof!

I printed these off and have a notebook of them to work through. My teacher and I agreed that they are a good edition to lessons for awhile and also timply to
sight read and play. Tim is nicely influenced by Bach and his love of the instrument and good technique!
Thanks, Tim! Josephine |
