What is wrong with the classifieds at www.cello.org. ?? The "latest" listing date is 3/3/09!!

More seriously though I did notice that you did not disagree with me.. I mean common where are the stickies, whats with the lack of usefully displayed information?? This seems to me like one of the more active cello forums on the net and it could be so awesome. |

Welcome wiimanboy,
This already IS an awesome site! In my observation, there is an especially large amount of 'usefully displayed information' posted all the time! No lack at all! And there is no lack of useless displayed information posted as well, not to be confused with uselessly displayed information, which there never is. Well, maybe sometimes, but we perservere. (Also, I would not count etsisk's post as 'one for you.') We maybe stickieless, but we are not tactless. Well, maybe sometimes, but we perservere. Josephine

I believe his point was strictly about the technical capabilities (or lack thereof) of this particular message board software. Saying that the forum software
is behind the times is not a statement about the quality of the posters here. All he was saying was that as Internet forums go, a lot has changed in the last
10 years.

etsisk: My bad, wasn't trying to put words in your mouth. Thanks for the replys, its nice to see everyone's different opinions. Also thanks for the warm welcomes! You guys should check out http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/ and other forums so you can compare and contrast them to the yuku platform. I should have used the word "presented" instead of "displayed" to avoid confusion in my previous comment. With a board as active as ICS, it would be nice to be able to navigate through the wealth of information without having to click next a thousand times, or search (assuming you already know what your looking for). Stickies are either frequently asked questions, or posts that prove to be useful time and time again, pretty much a bookmark that everyone can see. I would bet that this board has a ton of information that could be pinned up and easily shared. |

I do see your point - I moderate at a pilot board that uses vbulletin and the stickies, etc, are helpful.
