I recently dicovered the tonal tailpiece (http://tonaltailpiece.com) when searching for cello equipment online. It is very expensive for a tailpiece, 1200$ with fine tuners, and you find a lot of recommendations on the website written by prominent cellists. One of them compares this tailpiece with older revolutionary inventions like the endpin and steel strings in they way it improves the instrument. It's hand made from carbon fiber with titanium fine tuners and the tailpiece itself is "tuned" to a specific note, if you make a request they will tune it to a note of your choice. All this got me interested, but don't really know what to believe, reviews written on their own website might not be entirely objective I guess :P
Has anyone of you tried it and if so what are your opinions about it?
