I like playing outside on my porch but i don't like dragging a real chair out there every day and dragging it back in when I'm done. My goal is to design something sturdy enough to sit on, acceptable enough in appearance to leave out all the time, inexpensive enough that if it disappeared it wouldn't be a big loss and easy enough to build that I could put the plans out there so other people could make one if they wished.
Such a project chair would need to be adjustable. A commercial stool I see for sale can adjust the front edge from 15" to 20" but that would be low for me. I've gotten comfortable with a front edge height of about 21"
How high is the front edge of your chair? A chair that you feel is the right height for you. I want to get a sense of what range of heights a useful chair will need to accommodate.
